This is a general pricing guideline for some of my repair services.
Nothing here is etched in stone!
All repairs are taken on a case by case basis. Some may be more than listed here, some may
be less.
Upon inspection of your instrument I will offer a quote and will do my best to stick with that
quote. Unfortunately, there are some problems that may not be visible until I get into the repair a bit.
This rarely happens, but if this occurs, I will contact you with a revised quote.
My basic labor rate is $35 per hour.
Depending on the difficulty and aggravation of the repair this price may go up or down. If
I am correcting someone else's shoddy work, you may expect to pay a bit more.
If someone tells you they can set up your guitar for $20 or re-fret it for $50, well, you get what
you pay for.
Electronic repair is a bit limited at the time. I am learning more all the time so I'll hopefully be doing a bit more amp
work soon. I am currently attending my local community college studying electronics. In home stereo, I am enamored with
Dynaco and have a Dynaco System (a modded PAS-2, a modded FM-3, and a VanAlstine Omega 2 (which was built on a Dynaco ST-120
chassis if you care about these things) and it ROCKS!! I highly recommend this brand for old school stereo listening. I
will put these up against any McIntosh system any day of the week, and I have less than $500 in the whole system (except
for my speakers...Pinnacle Classic Gold Towers). I can work on these fairly easily since I know them a bit more than others...other
brands I'll be glad to look at and give an estimate. I also perform Fender Silver-face to Black-face conversions as well
as other amplifier modifications that are commonly done. Labor rate is the same as for instrument repairs, but I will charge
additionally for my time and cost on obtaining schematics and such.
